On September 11, 2011, President Barack Obama will be in New York City at Ground Zero to commemorate the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2001 World Trade Center tragedy that left about three thousand innocent people dead. Haitian-American Artist-Activist Smith Georges' artwork titled "A Tribute to 9 11 Heroes", which was on exhibit at the United Nations, has been estimated to worth more than a million dollars. It's acrylic and collage on canvas that took the artist more than a year to complete. The artwork was completed in 2002. Smith's artwork has been published by Time Magazine several times and several other prestigious magazines and textbooks. His 9'11 artwork was featured on the front page of the New York Times. Smith Georges intends to donate the original artwork, "Tribute to 9 11 Heroes" to a museum in New York City. Smith also collected thousands of manuscript notes written in several languages from people coming around the world visiting Ground Zero.They express their feeling and opinions about 9/11.
There is another Haitian-American artist by the name of Jean-Michel Basquiat, whose paintings are being sold on the market today for millions of dollars.
