About the Artist
Smith Georges- Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in December 1956.  Son of a prominent Haitian artist, Duclavier Georges (Leconte).  Smith is an accomplished artist.  He started painting and sculpting at the age of 7.  Smith attended Foyer Des Arts Plastics, a fine Haitian Art School.  In the U.S.,  Smith majored in Architectural Design and Accounting.  He uses all types of mediums such as wood, marble, metal, leather, stone, water color collage, acrylic and oil on canvas.  His style is influenced by his father's modern and surrealistic sculptures.  His work has also been on exhibit at leading art galleries throughout Haiti, at World Trade Art Gallery and Mehu Gallery in the United States and in several private exhibitions.  His work has been published in Time magazine, college textbook (Simon and Schuster), and other distinguished publications.

Smith's paintings and sculptures are in private collections in Haiti, U.S.A. and several Caribbean and European countries.  Dignitaries in the U.S. and abroad, including U.S. and foreign presidents, as well as several celebrities, are among those who enjoy a painting by Smith Georges in their private collection.

Smith plays guitar and composes French songs.  The trauma that he experienced in the World Trade Center tragedy has engulfed him so much that the very next day he started working on the idea of a project that engaged people in the U.S.A. and around the world to share their thoughts about 9/11.  His painting/collage entitled “A Tribute to 9/11 Heroes” was featured on the front page of the NY Times and on CBS TV.  He is currently writing a book.
