Hurricane Irene: Rich or Poor Can Become Refugee
       (Listen to the song)

A TIME TO REFLECT. “Refugee” by Petit Miguelito (Benin, West Africa)

People usually flee from danger in search of refuge, as in time of war, natural disaster, political oppression, or religious persecution. People who flee from danger, but have not crossed an international recognized border are referred to as IDP, Internally displaced person. But the bottom line is they are all refugees. rich, or poor can become refugees. Whether it’s due to hurricane Irene in the United States, or the 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Haiti.

The Beninese star singer Petit Miguelito from Benin, West Africa, can not express it any better in his song titled “Refugee” when he says we are not born refugees, we become refugees. It’s a song with an international appeal that transcends all matter of race, nationality and social status. The song should be awarded the song of the year. Please sign the Petition at www.ArtandFreeWorld.com to nominate the song so eventually it can become the song of the year (Humanitarian Category.) Now you are invited to listen to the song in its entirety, which is in French, but subtitled in English.

Merci. Thank you.
